Ms Eun Kyung Park from HERI hosted the panel discussion, and the guests include Prof. Liu Xuezhi from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Prof. Qian Xiaojun from Tsinghua University and Mr. Karl Chun Seung Yang, the Director of KoSIF.

Experts spoke highly of the evaluation system, regarding it as a fair, transparent index with great significance to the development of CSR in East Asian region. It was also an effective platform for cross-cultural communication and research. However, Prof. Liu expressed the hope to include more small and medium enterprises in the system so as to have a broader view of CSR performance of the whole industry. Prof. Qian also encouraged Chinese companies to catch up with Korean and Japanese companies in CSR aspects, especially in information disclosure. On the other hand, Mr. Karl Chun Seung Yang confirmed that pollution was no longer the most serious problem in Korea, but global warming, hazardous chemicals and bio-diversity. Gender equality was another hot topic in the panel discussion. Experts from the two countries suggested that both society and women themselves should try to change the situation.

When asked about the advice to improve East Asia 30 in the future, three experts reached the consensus that more media coverage and international cooperation would significantly increase the reputation and impact of East Asia 30.
